Suitcase man, makes you want to take him with you.

Oh, how we love this little cutie! I think he will be on more peoples blogs than anyone else.

Childrens bathroom change

I did this in April following my surgery, because I was tired of the old look.
I wanted to up date it a little. Unfortunately I painted first before I bought the curtain. It looks okay here, but in reality it looks slightly green like an army green. I wanted a tan, but sometimes what looks good on a small swatch does not look the same on an entire wall. I prefer the method of buying the curtain and then taking to the store to match the color. I have recently decided I would like to do a ventian plaster technique I found in a book with various painting techniques. I am not sure how brave I am about attempting the technique. Is there any advise from any others that have attempted it. I may call my step brother Quinton and see if he will show me how on a sample before I do the real thing. He is really good at painting.

Completed Projects

I have had this dresser in the backyard for several years, probably at least 4 years. I dodn't think Merik thought I was ever going to finish it. I bought it at Deseret Industries for $25. dollars. Believe it or not I paid about the same for the handles. At the time I couldn't find the right length of handles. My selection was very limited. If I were to buy some today I would use silver handles instead. Originally I was going to stain the dresser, but some of the crevices had paint in them and was not easy to remove and I decided it would be easier to paint it white and look great. I do like it. A hair from the brush got on one of the drawers and I went to remove it and ended up peeling some paint with it. It bubbled and I tried covering it with more paint and that didn't work to well. So I sanded it on the middle part and then repainted. That did the trick.
The name is done on a large cricket machine. My sister Donna has one. I bought white to use and it did not show up as well. Donna told me she didn't think it would. I thought it would be alright because of the white trim in the room and it looks great. It was to washed out looking, so I used some silver glitter spray paint and dabbed it on with a Q-tip. It took me awhile. I should have listened to my sister. I do like the way it turned out though.
