Update on test results

Tuesday March 18th I had a Colonoscopy and EGD test done. I was only allowed liquids the day before and the medications to clean out my system. The day of the test no food or liquids. They took pictures of my intestines and some biopsies. I do not have cancer or an ulcer. There is redness and swelling and he said I have a fast moving colon. It is called irritable bowel syndrome. He gave me some medication to help. I still need to watch what I eat treating this like an ulcer. I do not however know the results for the ultrasound test. I was told by Dr. Shafi that it would be okay to proceed with the MGB surgery, but need to get it in writing and put it in my packet.

Delays for Surgery

I felt a gnawing pain following eating pizza, etc. So I believe I have an ulcer. I called Dr. Rutledge and he said to have it checked out, as well as cancer. He also told me to cancel the surgery for now until I know for sure what is happening. Bummer! I am now also on Protonix for acid reflux also known as gerd. I am watching what I eat avoiding acidic type foods like tomato based, citrus, greasy, fatty foods and sodas. Oh what a joy! The weight loss surgery should help, but I have to clear up the ulcer first, and the doctor wants to know if I have cancer first. I honestly don't believe I have cancer. I had Merik give me a blessing and it was very positive. The power of the priesthood is a wondrous thing. It helps me to realize the love of God as well.
I got an ultrasound done yesterday and around 9:30 found it difficult to go to the bathroom. Felt like I really had to go and hardly anything would come. Later I felt some back pain, mostly on the right side and thought it was just my typical back problems. I thought to call my doctor and ended up going in for a urine analysis, but because my doctor was not there they sent me to a quick care and I am now being treated for a UTI. My doctor was concerned it may be in the kidneys. So he did not want me to wait.

24 Questionaire

What is his name? Merik Edgel

How long have you been married? 8 years

How long did you date? 4 months

How old is he? same as me, but I am 2 months older. And I'm not telling how old that is?

Who eats more? Obviously me, but that will soon change

Who said I love you first? I think it was him

Who's taller? he is

Who sings better? I do

Who is smarter? he is

Who has the worse temper? me

Who does the laundry? me, his idea of doing laundry is to switch them around, and not fold it.

Who does the dishes? I do, when he cooks he still doesn't clean up the mess. He figures he cooked it he shouldn't have to clean it. I on the other hand I cook and clean up the mess I make. Occasionally he will surprise me and do them, but it is very seldom.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do, but we have switched sides depending on the convenience of the way the room is arranged so he can get up and get to his things in the morning easily.

Who pays the bills? I do, but sometimes I wish he would so he has a better idea of where the money goes.

Who mows the lawn? he does, he loves to garden and uses the grass clippings for compost.

Who cooks dinner? He did most of the time when we first got married, because I would get home from work so late. Now I do most of the time. He has a tradition of making pancakes for Saturday mornings. He is really good at barbequeing, smoking salmon, dutch ovening and any kind of fish. He is a very good cook. He also does the canning, or we seal it in vacuum freezer bags.

Who drives when we are together? he does the most, but I do sometimes as well. He doesn't care for my driving.

Who is more stubborn? Probably me. We got married when we were older and I think we have both become more set in our ways. As Merik says though I am the king of my castle when my wife's not home.
