More Halloween Pictures to Come
We had a party on Thursday that turned out great. I went a little hog wild. There was mega food and we are still eating left overs. I made mummy pretzels. Tootsie Pop skeletons and put a treat bag together. We also had spider cupcakes and were supposed to play all kinds of games. The games didn't all get played. It was a little chaotic for me with so many children. The head count was 17-18 and about 6-8 adults. The important thing is the kids had a blast. They played on the trampoline and swing set. I took pictures of them on the trampoline, etc. There was an orange table tennis ball they decorated with a face to look like a pumpkin, and then they used it to toss into the pumpkin stack. I misplaced the noses for the pin the nose on the pumpkin. I also made pumpkin shaped rice krispies for them to decorate the faces with candy. It never happened and I sent them home with the rice krispy treat. I even flavored them orange and food coloring of orange. The other game I got from the Family Fun magazine and added my own twist to it. It was a Spider. Pumpkin, Ghost, and Bat decorated plates and you flip a fake spider and get points assigned each plate. I made it so you could do relays. The kids had more fun just playing in the backyard together, and chowing. Even though things didn't happen as I had planned it was a whole lot of fun. I think the stuff I had would have worked better with a smaller group. I will keep the games if ever any of my family might want to use them they can.

A little confused
I did a smilebox Halloween thing, but tried to put it on the blog and it is not working. I think because my email is different. I tried to change it and can't seem to get it to work. Although I can send it to other emails. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Our Halloween Decorations
I made silhouttes for all of the front windows. There are 2 witches, a cauldron, rats, bats, spider, ghosts, a cat. Then I put cheesecloth and frayed the bottoms and hot glued spiders like they are crawling out of the cauldron. I have a spider web on our door I made with white thick curly yarn tied in knots and a large black paper spider on the the web that I cut out. I will also make more giant paper spiders to go on the house. Like a spider invasion. I bought some orange paper chinese lanterns and cut out spiders I enlarged on the copier and glued them on the lanterns and will put battery operated tea lights in all of them. This is just the beginning of my Halloween decorations. I will gradually collect fake pumpkins and decorate them with stenciled spiders, and a few other carved pumpkins. I would also like to make a graveyard with fake mummy's and headstones, etc. I am having a good time doing this. It is fun seeing it all come together.

Halloween Ideas
I have been decorating and gathering ideas for a kids Halloween party. I would love some simple, but fun game ideas. You should see what decorations I am making that I found in a magazine. When I am finished I will have to take pictures and then you can see. It is a spider theme. Giant spiders! Eeekkk!
Baylee's Eyes
Guess what! Baylee's eye color is changing a little. She has a little brown around the center of the eye. I hope she gets some green.

Question of the Day
When Merik and I were engaged we went to Cedar City. He stayed at his brothers and I stayed at mom and dad's. We went fishing several different places. Up until this time I had been fishing many times, but never caught a fish. Anyways we went into the mountains above Cedar City. He first took me fishing in the boat. In a lake with beautiful mountains all around. When I went to get out of the boat I had a camera my father gave me and I stood up and fell down partially in the water and the boat and their went my camera ruined. The next day we went stream fishing. Merik actually taught me how to fish and believe it or not I am not sure at what point on this trip I actually caught a fish. When he went to leave he stepped on a log and so I followed him and the log rolled and my leg went in. We got back to the car and I told him he has to change my socks for me since he miss led me. Then later the same day we were stream fishing at some muddy banks. There was patches of snow on the ground here and there and Merik warned me that it was really slick and to be careful. I didn't hear what he said though and so off I went. Then down I went right into the water and mud. It was pretty funny. I was covered in mud and didn't dare get in his truck. Luckily I had a change of clothes. We were on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere and yet there were still plenty of cars coming here and there so I made him turn around and block the view of passersby. I would not have done that with just anybody, but I knew I could trust him. So how is that for embarrassing moments with a fiance. Oh, this was supposed to be about a fishing experience!

familysearchindexing.org
I saw an article in the Ensign and decided I would try it. I think it was last months. It is an extraction program on the internet and I have done about 3 sheets since I started of about 50 names each. It is not real hard. The hardest part about it is reading the handwriting at times. Most of the times I do pretty well. They have a system that has another person that also does the same page and can compare the 2 for mistakes.

Question of the Day
How do you feel the Lord works in mysterious ways. Can you describe a time you felt this way?
When I was serving in Glenrock, Pennsylvania on my mission my companion and I were walking down a country road with lots of brush, and very windy roads with one lane in each direction. We were walking on the inside by the brush and the thought came to me what if we were walking here and a car came around the corner and brushed up against the brush. They wouldn't even see us and we'd be dead! So I told my companion what I was thinking and suggested maybe we should cross to the otherside of the road. So we did and not even 5 minutes later exactly what I said happened. We looked at each other and knew it had to of been inspired. Various experiences like this have increased my testimony throughout the years of the ways the Lord communicates with us, and watches over us.

Cancer Update
I was under the understanding that I had cancer until yesterday on the phone to the cancer office. The receptionist looked up my records and she told me I had pre-cancer. Although I asked her what the difference was I did not understand her answer. Can anyone explain this to me. At what point is it considered full blown cancer.

Question of the day.
Have you met or worked with any famous people? Where, when, etc.
In about 1986-7 I met Red Fox at Craftmart and thought it was interesting that a man like him kept asking for freebies. For those of you unfamiliar with him he was a comedian who used to work on the Las Vegas strip. He also was in an old TV series called Sanford and Son. Merik says his accountant ripped him off and fled the city and so he was a poor man and the city had to bury him. I was unaware of what happened to him. That is sad. Where are all the honest people in the world?

This I felt was the absolute best one of all. There is a lot of action & quick flow to the book. I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it. So let me know if you have and then I will comment. Or if you don't plan on it, I'll just go ahead.

I Love The Rain
Hey guess what it's raining outside, now that's news! I even heard thunder. Whoa! Too cool hunh!
Vasectomy
Yes it is true, unless we have an oops in the next 6 weeks. I think that is how long it takes. It kind of makes me sad. We have such beautiful children and I would love to have more, but feel it would be very difficult with things as they are right now. I am just grateful I have the 2 I do.
I was in Cali last week getting Brandon's eye prosthetic cleaned, and since I have been back I have been doing geneology for the last couple of days. Last night Merik got up to see where I was and of course I was in his least favorite spot on the computer still. I did not get to bed until about 1:30 last night. I don't understand why he gets upset about it. I am doing a good thing. I am about 5 generations back on Merik's side of the family, and 7 or 8 on my side. There are places that I question and want to learn more about how to do research so I can double check somethings. Like spellings and dates of various people, etc.

Skin Cancer
I am writing this to inform my loved ones. That's you guys. I have recently learned through experience some valuable information. I had Melonoma skin cancer and caught it early enough to have it removed. The thing I did not realize is that it is hereditary. It was a mole on my back that I have had for quite awhile. They develop most often from freckles, moles youv'e had since you were a child, etc. that change. It is from sun exposure as a child without protection. The mole was discolored and (multicolored) and odd shaped. They sometimes change shape. Also check for raised areas and increased size. Make sure you wear sunscreen and use it on your children. If you are unsure get it checked. Most importantly check your own skin and watch for any changes. The good thing is it is treatable in the early stages, but when people ignore it and don't get it checked. It can become much more serious and even be deadly. Not to scare anybody, just trying to get the word out. Love Ya, Bren PS. I went to find out about skin tags not cancer. Although Merik thought it didn't look right and thought I should get it checked out. I had forgotten about it, because I couldn't see it. The Dr. decided to do an overall check and found it.

Open for Ideas/Suggestions
I thought it might be fun to get some input on
what others might think they'd like
to see on my blog or hear about me, or whatever.

My feelings about what I have learned.
Today I transferred this wedding shindig thing to my blog with some Nicole pointers and a few trial and errors things. It was a bit of a challenge for me, but the more I do the more I learn about. Somethings I have been wanting to do for quite sometime. I am also getting some good info, and have been introduced to free sites that allow me to do these things. I feel pretty good about this last creation. I also realize the learning isn't over.

Harry Potter Quest for Answers.
Hi! I am Brenda and have been trying to read all of the Harry Potter series, before the new movie comes out again. I like the fun, imagination, of the JK Rollins books. In fact I enjoy it so much that putting the dang book down I am reading is hard. Even to take time to blog. Can anyone tell me who they think R. A. B. is as indicated in the last book, because I have been looking and trying to figure that out. I am wondering if the persons full name is anywhere yet, or if maybe it is a nickname. And what is your opinion of Snape? Who's he really working for. I kinda am wondering if he had to kill Albus D., because of his promise to Malfoys mother, or if he is not really dead he just wants everyone to think he is right now. If he is dead Harry will have to go back to Hogwarts to communicate with him in his old office through the old headmasters photographs. After all when they were in the cave he made Harry promise to do what he told him. No matter what. And I think that Albus and Snape where arguing in the forbidden forest over the promise he made to Malfoy's mother. Otherwise why didn't Snape kill Harry already even when he chased after him to the edge of the forest? PS I am looking forward to your answers.
